Welcome to Darmstadt and to the department of Human Sciences

The International Coordinator is part of the staff of the Academic Services Office. The Academic Services Office is responsible for all students who are studying in one of the programmes offered by the Institutes of General Pedagogy and Vocational Education, Psychology and Sports Science including international students.

How can you contact us? You can contact us by E-Mail auslandskoordination@humanw.tu-… and you can also attend consultation during the phone or drop-in hours which you will find on our website.

Where can you find us? The Academic Services Office is situated in the Campus Stadtmitte near to the city center. The building S01|15 is at the corner of Alexanderstraße and Magdalenenstraße. Take the bus (busses F, FU, K or H) and get out at Alexanderstraße/ TU or take a short walk from the city centre on which you will pass the Darmstädter Residenzschloss (former residential castle).

While the Academic Services Office and the International Coordinator of our department is always the first point of contact, there are other useful contacts and links some of which are listed below.

For questions about studying at our department please contact either the Academic Services Office, the International Coordinator of the department or the International Coordinator of the institute you are studying at.

For questions about specific requirements of the courses you are attending please ask the teachers.

For questions regarding study organisation including questions about TUCaN, courses and examinations please contact the Academic Service Office.

For questions about your stay please contact TU Darmstadt International or the International Student Service. TU Darmstadt International offers support regarding the organization of your stay. The International Student Service offers support in all non-academic areas.

The recommended courses depend on your subject of study and on the German language skills you have. Some courses are taught in English. Most of the courses taught in English are part of a Master program.

For The Language Resource Centre (SPZ) is a central services institution of TU Darmstadt. It offers language courses and other services for all students including German intensive courses for international students.

The SPZ website offers some useful Links for German learners which may help you to practice German.

The TU Darmstadt offers a wide range of sports and exercise, from A for acrobatics to Z for Zumba. Many of these activities are organized by the Unisportzentrum (USZ).

The Studierendenwerk Darmstadt offers a wide range of services for all international students at the TU Darmstadt including advisory services like social counselling.
