The institutes of the Department of Human Sciences are the Institute of General and Vocational Pedagogy, the Institute of Psychology and the Institute of Sport Science.

The interdisciplinary approach in research and teaching is a special characteristic of the department.

The International Coordinator is part of the staff of the Academic Services Office. The Academic Services Office is responsible for all students who are studying in one of the programmes offered by the Institutes of General Pedagogy and Vocational Education, Psychology and Sports Science including international students.

How can you contact us? You can contact us by E-Mail and you can also attend consultation during the phone or drop-in hours which you will find on our website.

Where can you find us? The Academic Services Office is situated in the Campus Stadtmitte near to the city center. The building S01|15 is at the corner of Alexanderstraße and Magdalenenstraße. Take the bus (busses F, FU, K or H) and get out at Alexanderstraße/ TU or take a short walk from the city centre on which you will pass the Darmstädter Residenzschloss (former residential castle).

Where can I learn German or other languages?

For The Language Resource Centre (SPZ) is a central services institution of TU Darmstadt. It offers language courses and other services for all students including German intensive courses for international students.

The SPZ website offers some useful Links for German learners which may help you to practice German.

Is there a sports programme which I can attend?

The TU Darmstadt offers a wide range of sports and exercise, from A for acrobatics to Z for Zumba. Many of these activities are organized by the Unisportzentrum (USZ).

What other student services are there?

The Studierendenwerk Darmstadt offers a wide range of services for all international students at the TU Darmstadt including advisory services like social counselling.
